View down the termination of Aktineq Glacier (B17)

Location: Bylot Island, Nunavut, Canada
View down the termination of Aktineq Glacier (B17)

View down termination of Aktineq Glacier (B17). Note ice-cored stagnation topography in left midground (see also image 0038) and an icing (aufeis, naled) covering debris-rich, remnant basal ice (see image 0138) in right midground. This view is southeastward across the rolling Late Mesozoic-Cenozoic bedrock terrain that is typical of the Arctic Lowlands. The mountains of northern Baffin Island can be seen on the horizon.
