Valley cut by meltwater into snout of Sirmilik Glacier (B37)

Valley 100 m deep cut by meltwater into snout region of Sirmilik Glacier (B37), view from glacier's surface south across dark-colored outwash to Eclipse Sound in distance. Note clear water of meltwater at bottom of the valley, which parallels glacier's long axis. Dark masses on valley sides are largely organic material, primarily composed of algal remains, originally trapped in crevasses or ephemeral meltwater channel scars.
